Welcome to Fortis Trust

Welcome to Fortis Trust

At Fortis Trust, we place young people at the heart of all that we do.  We work as a family of collaborative and innovative academies and institutions that together have the talents and strengths to improve the achievements and life chances of the young people, families and communities we serve. We recognise the strength that strong collaborative partnerships can bring and focus on supporting all academies and partners to strive for excellence.

Our Multi-Academy Trust exists to work together to make a positive global difference for all through collaboration and innovation. We aim to bring together a diverse range of schools from across the south-east creating collaborative partnerships through which best practice can be developed, harnessed and shared for the betterment of all. Our academies and provisions have very different contexts so we deliberately do not adhere to a one-size fits all approach across our Trust. Instead, we are united by our focus on delivering the very best learning experiences for all, striving for excellence in everything that we do.

We do this by ensuring that all our learning opportunities are aligned to our Framework for Excellent Practice. Our expectation is that all staff will know, recognise and use the framework in all aspects of their work.  We serve a wide range of different communities. Our diversity and differences gives us our strength and broadens our knowledge base of what works best for children and young people.  As a Trust, we promote and celebrate the individuality of our academies by providing them with the freedom to develop their own strengths and distinct characters in order to meet the unique needs of their communities. Our academies value maintaining this individuality, whilst maximising the benefits of being part of a larger supportive network and organisation.

Being part of a multi-academy trust gives our staff access to exciting professional development opportunities, provides the chance for children and young people to interact with others and offers challenge and support to leaders through effective coaching, governance support and innovation for improvement.  Children and young people need and deserve the right start in life academically, socially and emotionally whatever stage of their educational journey. We aim to bring out the best in everybody. We develop the character of everybody involved in the trust, through challenge and support for improvement and development.  We develop our staff to enhance their career aspirations by providing continued leadership growth and opportunities to take active roles within the Trust. Staff at all levels are supported through personalised development opportunities and excellent professional learning and training.

We do not work in isolation. We know that our ‘strength through partnership’ must go beyond our trust.  Therefore, we work beyond our Trust with local schools, the community, local charities, local employers and local and national advisory networks. In addition, we work more broadly across the region and system, so that we can learn from each other, harness best practice, access the latest research, and secure the expertise of those beyond the school system who share our values.

We are driven by a passion to do our very best for the young people and staff in all of our academies and provisions and we know that by working together we can achieve things that we could not do alone. We provide first class child-centred education to young people aged 3-19 years, ensuring all children make excellent progress and achieve highly in their academic and personal development. We also support young adults to further their life chances, through supported internships; enabled by strong community based partnerships, with a range of local employers.  We are driven by our vision to harness the talents and strengths of everyone within our trust to raise the aspirations of our learners, enabling them to take full and active responsible roles in their communities and beyond as global citizens and ambassadors.

Fortis Trust has an excellent track record of delivering effective school improvement; with sharing of best practice and expertise, both within the Trust and beyond, improving the quality of teaching and learning, leadership and governance; to continuously challenge and raise expectations for all across Medway, Kent and the South-East.  We are proud of the quality of our teaching and learning across the Trust, and the support we provide to nursery, primary & secondary schools, and provisions across Medway and Kent through our outreach service. Which, through the sharing of expertise and best practice provides high quality school improvement and support.
